Artist Statement

I am somewhat amused that I fall under the category of an emerging artist at my age. Although I realise we all have to start somewhere, I am very grateful to have this opportunity so late in my life. 
 
In 2016 after completing my Diploma of Visual Arts (with Distinction) I won the Freemasons on the Central Coast Emerging Artist Sponsorship of 2016/2017.
I am very pleased to hold my first solo exhibition this year in July at the Co-op Gallery. My hope is to convey an artwork that represents my heart and Maori heritage. 
 
As a full member of the Art Studios Cooperative I am thankful to work in a friendly group environment and to have on hand the skill and knowledge of professional artists. It has been very advantageous to learn the processes of gallery operations, art administration and have the availability to network with other artist which ASC provides.
I believe ASC is an extremely valuable addition to the Central Coast and its Art Community
